Welcome to the Metro Boston Critical Incident Stress Management Team page.
The Metro Boston CISM Team consists of specially trained volunteers who provide a system of support services for all emergency services personnel. The team is peer driven. Volunteers are Massachusetts Firefighters, Police Officers, EMT's, Paramedics, Clergy and Clinical Specialists.
A Critical Incident may be any event which overwhelms your usual coping mechanism, which may cause you to experience unusually strong emotional reactions and may have the potential to interfere with your ability to function at the scene or later on.
